What to Expect

When you’re preparing for a rehab stay, knowing what to bring can help things go smoothly for you.

We look forward to welcoming you to your new life of purpose and recovery.  During your treatment experience, we recommend that you bring the following:

Please thoroughly read and adhere to the following guidelines. Your bags will be inspected for prohibited items during the admissions process. Any items not allowed will either be sent home or held on-site until discharge and will not be accessible during treatment.

Clothing

  • Enough clothing for 7 days appropriate for the weather
  • Comfortable pajamas or sleepwear
  • A robe and slippers for comfort
  • Workout clothes if you plan on participating in any physical activities
  • Comfortable shoes for walking or light exercise
  • Note: All items must fit into one full-sized suitcase, duffle bag, or other bag. An additional small personal-sized bag (approximately the size of a backpack) and a bag to protect your technology (e.g., laptop)

 

Prohibited Clothing:

  • Tube tops, halter tops, tank tops, low-cut tops, and muscle shirts
  • Clothing that advertises/promotes drug, alcohol, or tobacco use, bars or gambling, or has sexual, gang, or violent connotations
  • Torn, ripped, see-through clothing, or items with holes exposing private body parts
  • Shorts must be at least mid-thigh length

Personal Hygiene Items

  • A toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Soap or body wash
  • A hairbrush or comb
  • Deodorant
  • Shaving supplies (if applicable)
  • Skincare products (e.g., moisturizer, facial cleanser)
  • Lip balm
  • Contact solution and its case (new sealed bottle of solution/case)
  • Reading glasses
  • Hearing aids
  • Other medical devices (as approved by nursing)
  • Feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads must be new and sealed)

Miscellaneous

  • Books are allowed but limit the quantity and be mindful of the topic and content. We also have a large library of books
  • Personal Bibles and journals, or other faith and recovery texts are encouraged in addition to leisure books
  • Art supplies, such as coloring books, markers, gel pens, etc., are generally allowed
  • Heated hair styling devices may be allowed on a case-by-case basis
  • A journal or notebook (if you prefer a specific one)
  • Pens or pencils
  • A reusable water bottle
  • A list of emergency contacts and important phone numbers
  • A small amount of cash for incidentals (if allowed)
  • Earplugs or a sleep mask if you’re a light sleeper
  • A watch (non-smart) for keeping track of time
  • A photo ID and insurance card

Medications and Supplements

  • Any prescription medications in their original bottles
  • Over-the-counter medications (as approved by the facility)
  • Bring an updated list of your current medications. We’ll provide your medications during your stay

What We Provide

  • A Bible and Alcoholics Anonymous literature will be provided during the admission process if needed
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Laundry detergent
  • Sheets, bedding, and pillows
  • Tissues
  • Toilet paper
  • Hand soap, basic hygiene products
  • Games, movies, books

Prohibited Items

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Illegal drugs, paraphernalia, or products containing alcohol or THC
  • Devices used exclusively for photo or video recording features (e.g., cameras)
  • Gambling-specific games
  • Items with sexually suggestive content or photos
  • Aerosol cans (dry shampoo, hairspray, body spray, etc.)
  • Extension cords or power strips
  • Hygiene products that contain alcohol (hand sanitizer, cologne, etc.)
  • Candles
  • Lighters
  • Personal DVDs
  • Expensive jewelry, accessories, or clothing
  • Snacks (within reason; check with the facility for specifics)
